Walt Landgraf 1941 -
2007
|
Walt Landgraf, President of
the Barkhamsted Historical Society, died Monday, July 23, 2007. One
of Walt's passions was local history and he worked hard on Historical
Society projects including research, numerous educational initiatives
and the restoration of the Squire's Tavern. We were blessed with
Walt's inspiration and guidance for many years and it was a pleasure
knowing this wonderful man as a friend and as our leader.

Walt touched so many lives through his
work at the Historical Society, at the Stone Museum at
People's Forest, as a biology teacher (now retired) at
Northwestern Regional High School and in countless other
venues and endeavors with which he was associated. The
depth of his knowledge and the extent of his passion for a
wide range of subjects combined with his warm friendly manner
and delightful sense of humor were a joy to all those who he
came in contact with. |

Walt, we sure hope you are sitting down
now with some of those historical figures shrouded in the mists of
time that so fascinated you and that you are now getting all the
little details to fill in all the blank areas of your research.
Let us know what you find out! |
