Lost & Found ~ Fireplace

November 28, 2007:
It is a momentous day
in the life of the Colebrook Historical Society. Another
fireplace was uncovered in the Gathering Room, due to the diligence of
George Bodycoat, Greg Millard and Dan Rebillard, including the
original mantle which had been stored in the attic, probably since the
town took over the building for its offices. |
The bricks are a bit deteriorated and so there will be no fires set.
However, as a visual bit of history, this is a great discovery.
A bit of repainting needs to be done to the mantle as well some patch
work here and there, but everything is amazingly intact, including a
small crane for a pot of soup or a cup of tea. |

Come and see
our
new discovery!
Thanks and appreciation
to George,
Greg & Dan for this bit of historical sleuthing.
